Capitola
I am lucky enough to live in the beautiful Seaside Village of Capitola. This quaint town sits on the Northeast Shore of the Monterey Bay. Steep cliffs mark access to several popular beaches, including New Brighton Beach. Downtown Capitola sits in a depression among the cliffs so that the popular tourist and shopping area leads directly to Capitola Beach.
You will find colorful houses and hotels that line the slopes of the town leading back up to the clifftops. Summertime fun includes days on the beach, the Wharf to Wharf race, Wednesday night concerts on the beach, Junior Lifeguard competitions and Surf lessons taught by local pros to name a few. Year round fun includes the Art and Wine festival, movies on the beach, enjoying the many restaurants and shops that line the streets of this quaint Village and, of course, year round surfing.
This is a close knit community that also happens to be a magnet for tourism. So, whether you’re a resident or a tourist, there is always something to enjoy in this little slice of Paradise!
